Apple Rumored to be Working on Cheaper Version of iPad Mini

At a projected $329, the Apple iPad Mini is considered a low budget tablet device. But then, is it as cheap as you would like?

Not really. Comparing it with rivals such as the Amazon Kindle Fire and the Google Nexus 7, you notice a huge price difference. As if to set your anxiety at rest, it looks like Apple has started working on a low cost version of the iPad mini.

According to a report quoting Citigroup analyst Glen Yeung, Apple will be releasing a less expensive iPad mini . The report suggests that Apple is currently focusing on inexpensive products to boost its declining share in the market.

During a recent conference call, Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s Chief Operating Officer, had said that the company is looking to make profits from cheaper devices, as that would hold long-term potential.

Apple might probably include lower component prices, or remove the rear camera or cut the storage to 8GB to create a product at a lower cost. But we don’t think it would sacrifice anything on the expense of quality.

If the rumors about Apple’s products are true, then the company will be introducing an iPhone 5S, a low cost iPhone, a redesigned fifth generation iPad and a low cost iPad mini in the upcoming days.

It has been also rumored that Apple’s low cost iPhone 5 will hit the market this September.
