If everything goes right, Samsung will soon release its first Android tablet with Intel chip. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Android tablet is expected to sport an Intel Atom processor.
We hear, the upcoming device would have a 10.1-inch display and a dual core 1.6GHz Intel Atom chip known as Clover Trail+.
Also, the Clover Trail+ chip will include a high performing PowerVR SGX544 MP2 graphic processing unit from Imagination Technologies.
It is rumored that the tablet display will have a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and will run Android 4.2.2 operating system.
Although, Samsung hasn’t announced such a product, speculations are that the device will launch at the Computex event, which starts June 4 in Taipei.
If what we hear is true, then it would be a big win for Intel, whose chips are normally used for Windows 8 tablets.
But none of these devices have succeeded in the market. Intel has been reportedly working hard to reduce the power consumption of its Atom chips.
Usually, the South Korean tech giant uses both Intel Atom and Core processors in its Windows 8 tablets and convertibles, but an Android tablet with Atom processor is going to be new. Watch out for Computex.
