Sony Xperia ZR Boasts Water-Friendliness; Take it Along For a Dive [Video]

Would you want to take your smartphone along on a dive? If you would want to have your handset keep you company while you experience the splash of cool rejuvenating water on your face and body, here’s one device that wouldn’t mind some synchronous swimming too!

Sony has just outed one such charmer. Christened the Xperia ZR, this Sony baby comes close on the heels of the debut of the Xperia Z, which has already become a hugely popular rig.

The official announcement of the Xperia ZR has come about and that makes us wait for it to finally come unto us.

Just imagining deploying the ZR to capture some breathtaking underwater scenes! This simply makes us go crazy.

A deeper look at what Sony has made will bring to the fore the capability of the ZR to stay submerged in water for up to 30 minutes.

The handset has a  13-megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor on the rear. This cam will have a dedicated button that would enable you to click all those under water pictures at will.

On the storage side, 8GB of on board storage has been provided, along with the option to go in for an enhancement to 32GB with the help of a microSD card.

Further specs read thus: The device sports a 4.6-inch HD TFT touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720.

The handset is driven by a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with an Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

The 131mm x 67.4mm x 10.4mm device will has a 2,300 mAh battery. We expect the device to be launched sometime during the third quarter.
