Apple Next Gen iPhone Likely to Come on Boost Mobile Too; Pre-Paid Plan Expected

April 30, 2013, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Even as a debate is raging over whether the next iteration of the Apple iPhone will bear the name iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, an update that just surfaced on micro-blogging site Twitter talks of something that could leave you wondering!

The next iPhone will be Apple’s seventh in that genre and by the end of the year, as always, we could see the device coming into our midst.

And going by the Tweet, the device is expected to come riding Boost Mobile, alongside the regulars such as T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T!

That’s a surprise carrier for an iPhone launch, right? The plan could be that Apple wants to keep demand from customers for a prepaid option too. And that could have brought Boost Mobile into the picture.

Prepaid options are sought after by customers these days owing to the reasonable prices and manageable schemes they offer.

The rise of Boost Mobile has been noteworthy over the past few years and Apple also seems to have taken note of that. That said, it is likely that Apple could launch the next iPhone on to the Boost prepaid network by the third quarter of this year.  The tweet has come courtesy of EVLeaks, and that makes us believe it.

This revelation also brings to mind the rumor that had done the rounds in 2012 which said that the iPhone 5 would be unleashed via Boost Mobile on a prepaid plan. However, that never happened.

If folks at EVLeaks know what they are doing, we have all reason to wait for the prepaid next gen iPhone this year. Stay tuned.
