If you remember, the last edition of the Mobile World Congress showcased for the world a potentially awesome tablet from HP. We have been waiting ever since then to get our hands on this new tablet called HP Slate 7.

At the MWC venue HP had ignited hopes by saying that the device would come into our midst in April, but then it never happened.

Unforeseen delays had kept the Slate 7 from making it to retail, and then the company had, on its product page, put up June as the month when the Slate 7 would come unto us.

HPWhen the HP fanboys started creating a flutter about the delay, HP thought it wouldn’t be right to keep them waiting.  And so the product page was changed again by finalizing an April launch date.

April is into its last days and there wasn’t any clue on the Slate 7 – till yesterday. Even before we could start clamoring for the device saying that April is almost over, HP has brought it on, thankfully.

Relax folks, the HP Slate 7 is already here, and you can order it on HP’s website for $169.99. For that money, you can make sure that you play with the device that sports a 7-inch display with multitouch support and a resolution of 1024 x 600.

Under the hood is an ARM Cortext A9 dual-core 1.6GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. Internal storage of 8GB plus a a microSD slot to enhance that by 32GB has also been thrown in.

The Slate 7 comes with a front camera that offers VGA resolution, while the rear snapper is of 3 megapixels.  On the connectivity front, there are options for standard 802.11b/g/n/ WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1.

HP has done its bit to make Slate 7 an awesome sounding rig with the inclusion of Beats Audio. The juice is provided by a 3500mAh battery. Your wait ends here, folks. Aren’t you already placing your order?
