Archos Unveils Three Android Powered Handsets for Europe

Archos had recently announced 3 new smartphones for Europe and those Google powered handsets are set for release by the end of this May.

Each device in this line-up comes with dual SIM card option, IPS display and a super slim design. The manufacturer has also promised cloud storage capabilities.

The first device in the range is an entry level handset, named 35 Carbon. Like its name suggests, it carries a 3.5-inch display with 320 x 480 pixel resolution.

The Archos 35 Carbon runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is powered by a 1 GHz processor. Under the hood, the handset packs 512GB of RAM, a 1,300 mAh battery and 4GB of ROM.

A microSD card slot is also provided for memory expansion for up to 32GB. This entry level handset will be available for $99.99.

Meanwhile, the 50 Platinum is the Archos flagship and it sports a bigger 5-inch screen that has a 960 x 540 pixel resolution.

The handset comes powered by Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and holds two cameras – an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front shooter.

The Archos 50 Platinum is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core cortex-A4 CPU. The handset comes with a price tag of $219.99.

The third device, christened 53 Platinum carries almost identical specs as the 50 Platinum except in screen and battery size. The Archos 53 Platinum comes with a 5.3-inch display and powered by a 2,800 mAh battery. It is priced at $249.99.
