Nokia Lumia Catwalk Handset Images Leaked; Brings Aluminum Casing to the Fore

The images of the alleged Nokia Windows Phone Lumia smartphone with an aluminum casing have been leaked.

Found on the Chinese website Sina Weibo, the images show a device codenamed ‘Catwalk’. Said to be the successor to Lumia 920, it looks very similar, except that it has an aluminum body instead of the polycarbonate shell of the Lumia 920.

At the moment, we are not able to verify the authenticity of those images. However, sources close to Nokia have been quoted as saying that the Finnish phone maker is preparing an aluminum-bodied handset. It is also unclear whether it is a prototype model or a final design.

Earlier information had stated that the new device would also sport the same 4.5-inch display as the Lumia 920 and would also include a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor, 16 GB of RAM and 2000 mAh battery.

The leaked images feature a large camera module, which indicates a high-end PureView camera with LED flash. The rear has three connection points at the bottom to provide wireless charging. We have also noticed a repositioned microUSB slot (or HDMI port) on the image.

Apple had first introduced an aluminum body for its iPhone 5. HTC followed suit by launching their HTC One with an aluminum unibody design. However, Samsung still stick with the plastic case handset for its devices.
