Taser Cop-Cam is a Non-Lethal Weapon More Effective than Pepper Spray

Tasers are not such an unfamiliar word, and if you have been on the receiving end of one, then you are not likely to forget it in your lifetime.

Taser International is a company that has profited a lot from just one weapon – the Taser.

Tasers are used extensively in more than 90 percent of the 18,000 police departments in the United States. The Taser has given police officers a non-lethal weapon that is more effective than pepper spray.

Now the company is planning to revolutionize policing again with a new device that would take tasering to a new level. The apparatus consists of a head-mounted camera called Axon Flex, that is designed to record audio and video footage from a cop’s point of view.

Moreover, a web service, Evidence.com, will store and categorize the videos received from the camera so that it can be used at a later date for criminal records.

These would probably help the cops in getting some firsthand evidence that would be useful while solving a case.

The one thing that would nag the public is whether Axon Flex and Evidence.com would be used in accordance with the law or would it be used as a weapon to invade privacy.
