Amazon Web Services Prepping up Mobile App Development

Amazon Web Services is looking for a software development engineer for their new mobile applications start-up.

The news came from the company’s new job posting, which mentioned about the vacancy for a new iOS/Android AWS initiative that will be based in Palo Alto, Calif.

According to the job post, the ideal candidate is one who would have built an app that is featured in the top 25 apps, and will be looking for a new service from the ground floor. This is how the post reads:

Amazon Web Services Prepping up Mobile App Development

“In this role, you will be responsible for creating and owning world-class production tablet and web client applications across major platforms including iOS and Android . You must be willing to insist on the highest standards for quality, maintainability, and performance. You will ensure that engineering best practices are followed and that software is designed to be responsive, reliable and maintainable.”

Usually, a PC is the chosen medium of working for developers, as they access AWS through their desktop computers. But with the emergence of smartphones and tablets, PCs and laptops are quickly getting replaced.

Moreover, as the job listing speaks of Android and iOS support to the AWS management console, users will be able to track the services through their respective devices. Chances are that the AWS will be having their own MbaaS (mobile backend as a service ), as the company’s posting talks about client app development instead of just SDKs.
