There’s a Samsung rumor flying about. The folks from Sammobile are on with this snippet of news, and they claim that the Korean Electronics giant is set to release a big smartphone in Europe.
Big means it really is big, as per the speculated details, the smartphone will be having a 5.8-inch qHD display. Now that’s huge for a smartphone, but there’s another interesting thing to note here, and that is the name of the device.
Samsung’s new offering will, reportedly, come under the name of Samsung Galaxy Fonblet. Funny name, certainly, and it is not everyday we see such fancy names, so this one is an ear-grabber.
The smartphone is said to be derived from the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 PMP. The Player was released in Korea, with cellular capabilities.
The company must have thought it wasn’t enough, so must have patched in some cool new features and boxed it for Europe. The Galaxy Player, apart from having a 3-megapixel rear camera, had the same display which we will see in the Fonblet.
So while the name is fancy, we might not be seeing any high-end specs. On hearing about the Fonblet the first time, I hoped that it would be a Note 2 successor, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be one.
The device is touted to have dual-sim capabilities, suggesting its suitability for European markets. And the screenshots show a white colored device; Samsung seems to like white a lot.
We hope to hear more on the insides soon, and we will have it here when we do. Until then, keep a lookout for rumors.
