Galaxy Note 8.0 Joining the Samsung Product Line

January 19, 2013, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

New information on Samsung’s new upcoming Note device, the GT-N5100, is out. Assuming things to happen as expected, the Galaxy Note 8.0 will join the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet as well as the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Note phablets.

And similar to the rest of the devices in the Note lineup, the Note 8.0 will arrive with the S Pen and the special functionality that comes along with it.

The Samsung GT-N5100 will come in 2 versions: GT-N5100 3G / Wi-Fi version and the GT-N5110 Wi-Fi only version.

The name of GT-N5100 will be the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Pretty slick, don’t you think?

Samsung’s new upcoming Galaxy Note 8.0 will use a 8.0-inch display having a resolution of 1280×800 TFT (Super Clear LCD). It will have 5 megapixel back camera, 1.3 megapixel front camera, 2 GB RAM, 16/32 internal + Micro SD slot.

The battery of the Galaxy Note 8.0 will be a 4600 Mah one. The Galaxy Note 8.0 will also have many ways of connectivity like Bluetooth version 4.0, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and a GPS.

The dimensions of the tablet will be 211.3×136.3×7.95 mm and the weight is around the 330g. Samsung’s new Note device will run on Android 4.2 called Jelly Bean.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 GT-N5100 definitely looks  to be an affordable tablet rival against the iPad mini with S-PEN functions of course. But specs could have been better.

For the time being, however, nothing has been officially confirmed on the new tablet PC, and we should wait for Samsung’s formal announcement on this to learn specific details on it.
