January 12, 2013, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Earlier this week, ZTE officially unveiled its all new 5-inch Grand S and the device is now heading towards China. The company said that it will launch in the first quarter of 2013.

Until now, there was an uncertainty about the Grand S US release but clearing all the doubts, ZTE’s Head of North American Business, Lixin Cheng, confirmed that the company has plans to launch its device in US markets.

Though he has not revealed much about its release date or the carrier partners, the device is set to launch in the US sometime later this year.

The ZTE Grand S is a 5-inch Android smartphone with 1080p display and packing a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor along with 2 GB of RAM. The device also has a 13-megapixel rear shooter and 2-megapixel front camera, 16GB storage, microSD slot, and 4G LTE.

The Grand S measures just 6.9mm in thickness and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Operating System. ZTE isn’t a familiar mobile brand name in US markets but recently many carriers are showing interest in ZTE because of their fast production rate and low cost.

Though, no information about its release date or price details are available, it’s nevertheless exciting to know that the Grand S will be available for US customers soon.
