Sony Xperia Z Leaked Images Show Skeletal Structure and Water Resistance

January 4, 2013, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

That sleek and sexy handset is out again on screenshots. The Sony Xperia Z have been popping up every now and then through leaks, but this time we get to know a little more about the beauty in black.

The stills that are circulating around seem to be from a promotional video which the company is doing for the device. Anyway, a look at those pictures are enough to have you drooling for the smartphone.

As you can see, the highlighted feature of the Sony Xperia Z is its water resistance. The image of the device covered in droplets should be more than enough to leave you guessing.

Anyway, you can dab it or splash it with water and your Sony Xperia Z will still perform unfazed. But don’t try using it in a swimming pool, though!

As for the camera, the 13-megapixel Exmor RS camera is strong enough to render HDR for both photo and video capture. As you know, the display is a big 5-inch in size, so the image and video playback on a full HD Reality display would be as cool as it gets.
The screenshots show the rear of the device, with an all glass battery cover.

While the mention of a glass cover would prompt you to think about fragility, Sony promises that the smartphone’s “skeletal frame structure” would safeguard the phone from any damage.

Under the hood, along with 2GB of RAM, Sony has placed a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Adreno 320 GPU that would provide the juice to power this beauty. The device is expected to run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, coupled with Sony’s own User Interface.

The package looks set well and good to run for the smartphone of the year title. The price and other details are still in shadows, but might come to light soon.
