Guess what? Samsung has added yet another member to its existing line. The new addition, christened  Galaxy Grand, follows the Galaxy S III, Galaxy S III Mini and Galaxy Note II, all of which debuted this year.

The newest member also brings with it a dual-SIM variant, called Galaxy Grand Duos, and it is this phone that has been announced to hit the market first.

Samsung sure is introducing more of big screen devices to the public, but this time the company hasn’t quite delivered the perfection that enthusiasts were hoping for. This we say because Samsung Galaxy Grand’s major feature is also its biggest drawback.

When you look at the device, the first thing you notice about it is its 5-inch TFT LCD touch screen, but as heart breaking as it is, the device has a low resolution of 800×480 pixels that is sure to disappoint users.

Such a flaw is very hard to overlook as in this age of HD videos and games. We expect manufacturers to offer a minimum screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels to such large touch screens.

But other than this “mess up”, the phone sports a variety of other features that will surely impress the viewers. This handset is powered by the latest Android version, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It runs on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and offers 1GB of RAM to the users.

You can find an 8 megapixel camera at the rear, which is supported with an LED flash. You also get a 2MP camera in the front, which comes as a huge plus for the handset.  The device also carries a memory capacity of 8GB and that can be pushed up to 64GB via microSD card.

Though Samsung hasn’t yet announced the pricing details of the phone, this model will surely be affordable as this is surely a mid-range handset.
