Nintendo Wii Mini on Sale in Canada Only

November 30, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

The small and affordable gaming console, Wii Mini, will be on sale only in Canada. An official statement was given by Nintendo executives as a reply to the question of whether Wii Mini will roll out in the UK. So apparently, users in the UK have to buy other Wii consoles to quench their Nintendo gaming thirst. This small baby will belong to the Canadians only.

The Wii Mini sports a matt black finish with a red lining that will steal the show. Both compact and affordable, Wii Mini will be breaking sales records in Canada in the near future.

For $99, the sales will start by December 7th and after that the gaming frenzy would begin. However, it will not have Internet capabilities nor will it play Nintendo GameCube games, two features offered by the original Wii.

The Wii has a library of over 1,400 games, with some gems and also many critically reviled titles. Nintendo is releasing many classic games as part of its Nintendo Selects program for $19.99.

It has been 2 years since Nintendo has released Wii and until now Nintendo has released only a very few new games. The Wii was underpowered compared to other home console competitors, the Xbox 360 and PS3, only playing games in standard definition.

With the Wii U, the company was seen to be catching up with its competitors with HD graphics and online play. The Wii U launched on Novemeber 18, and the company says it sold 400,000 units in the US during the first week of launch.
