Twitter Allows Emails from its Stream

Twitter’s finally done something that other well-known third-party Twitter apps can do. You can send emails of tweets directly from the Twitter stream.

The new feature would be a helpful one to those who tweet daily, and keep a watch on their as well as their friends’ tweets. The feature will be available soon to everyone.

Users will be able to email a tweet to anyone, irrespective of whether they use Twitter or not, right from the Twitter stream or from the details section of any tweet. In the details, click on the ‘More’ icon next to the reply, retweet and favorite buttons.

There will be displayed a small box wherein you can type in your message and the email id. Hit send and you would have shared the tweet with anyone you desired.

TweetDeck and Hootsuite have already had this feature for a while. Twitter announced this on their official blog only now and they said that this late entry is to encourage all those who aren’t on Twitter yet.

Wonder why it took them so long to find out that sending emails directly from the stream might spark people’s interest in the micro-blogging site. Most of the third-party apps have already found that out long back.
