Air Patriots Mark Amazon’s Start into Mobile Gaming

Amazon is moving further with their gaming plans. They have stepped into the mobile gaming industry with their latest title, Air Patriots.

The online retailer had widened their presence in the game industry by launching a game studio of their own, and releasing their first game, which was a Facebook hidden game. Now with Air Patriots, they bring aboard mobile devices a defense game with a twist.

The title is all about tower defense and strategy, but it stands apart from the usual genre of defense games. In Air Patriots, you have under your control a squadron of planes, which you must use to push back the line of enemy tanks.

The difference in this game is that you don’t have a fixed base to play from instead you can move your aircraft at any time you please. Air Patriots is intended for tablets, where, on the wide screen surface, you can move you planes by tracing a flight path with your fingers.

Amazon’s first game on Facebook, Living Classics, has had a successful run so far, gathering over 140,000 monthly users. The title was launched back in August and kicked off Amazon’s plans in the game industry.

The retailer hopes to continue its successful run, and has tactically changed tracks on to mobile devices, releasing their title for their new Kindle Fire line-up as well as for the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Android tablets with Google Play. The advantage of playing Air Patriots on your Kindle devices is that you can alternate between your devices with the same game save, because the saved data is stored to the cloud.

The title is free and available for download from Apple App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore.
