The digital world seems to have nothing cheaper when it comes to uncompromised quality. Along with other systems, an Acer touch-screen Windows 8 laptop has popped up on the Home Shop Network.

Weighing about 5.4 pounds, the laptop has 1.7GHz Intel Core i5-3317U “IvyBridge” processor, 750 GB hard disk drive and thickness of over an inch.

For those who would like to carry a lot of multimedia content in their laptops, this device will do it with its vast disk space. There is also a DVD drive in it.

HSN has listed the device with a $999.95 price tag, while $1,334 will be its retail price. You won’t say that you expected it cheaper!

The 15.6-inch (1,366 x 1,080) touch screen is one aspect that makes it perfect for the Windows 8 touch centric interface. This feature alone sets it apart from Mac Books.

As we have already seen Windows 8 tablets and laptops from Asus, Sony, Toshiba and many more, the Windows 8 laptops from Acer with a touch screen will be a change for sure. You will definitely need the touch screen to take full advantage of Windows 8’s Metro interface.

Windows 8 is slated to go on sale on October 26. In the coming weeks and months, we expect announcements of touch-screen systems with higher-resolution too.

Having said that, the Acer laptop has a grainy screen and so it remains t be seen how it would survive competition.
