More players are jumping on the bandwagon of the new version of the smartphone platform from Microsoft  – Windows Phone 8.

Nokia has already revealed their Lumia 920 and Lumia 820. Samsung and HTC are known to have their own plans to take a good slice out of the Windows Phone 8 market pie.

Now, Chinese player Huawei also plans to reach out to the market earlier than at least some of these rivals, with a Windows Phone 8 device right before the end of this year.

According to information available from Huawei sources, the Chinese smartphone maker is targeting a 2012 release of Ascend W1, one of its WP8 devices. Though there are rumors that Ascend W1 will have company from Ascend W2, its high end bro when it sees the day’s light, it is not yet confirmed either by Huawei or by reliable sources.

However, it is confirmed that Huawei will be just another player in the Windows Phone 8 game. As per the information from Huawei official circles, Ascend W1 will not head to the high end market. It is expected to have a $320 price tag.

Ascend W1 will have several shade options for the consumers to pick from. It will have black, blue, pink and white variants when it hits the market.

But don’t expect a horse power processor chip inside, as well as other beefy specs for Ascend W1.

However, its cousin Ascend W2 is heard to try it out in the high-end market, though many analysts find fewer chances for this device to dent the market performance of other WP8 devices in the US.
