Apple iPhone 5 Thinner, Lighter than iPhone 4S; Design Treads Right Lane

When a new Apple product comes out, there are lots of rumored beliefs surrounding it in the market place. Often the expectations are met, but sometimes they are brutally broken when the customers get the dream device in their hands.

As the iPhone 5 is out and is in the possession of the lucky early birds, it is relevant to think about the usability advantages offered by the design of the new iPhone.

To be on the safer side, we are just expressing what we felt after fondling the phone for some time now. The fact that the new iPhone has become thinner and lighter is giving us a cool feeling when having this phone as our primary device.

We feel more comfortable when we compare the dimensions of the new device with its immediate predecessor, iPhone 4S.

The iPhone 4S had a 4.5 inches height, 2.31 inches width, 0.37 inches thickness and a 4.9 ounces of weight. While the width has stayed at the same spot, all the other dimensions have changed when the new device came out.

Compared with that, the iPhone 5 has a height of 4.87 inches, while it reduced to 0.07 inches thinner with a 0.30 inch thickness. Along with that, it has come out 0.95 ounces lighter.

We feel more pleasant when we think our experience with the iPad 3 which came out heavier and thicker than its predecessor making it less portable. Though we agree that Apple had made difficult decisions to keep the Retina Display on that device, the thicker and heavier profile has made us unpleasant. But with the iPhone 5 they have not shattered our dreams.

That is just our say; now let us know your opinion.
