Cube U9GT5 Jelly Bean Tab Features First Retina Display on an Android Slate

The Retina Display on the iPad has been something which no Android device has been able to challenge so far. Stuffing a 2048 x 1536 resolution into a 10 inch size display is no mean feat at all.

Acer Iconia Tab A700,was the only name from the Android camp which was somewhere close to this Apple challenge so far.

However, now things have changed with a new Chinese Android tablet coming out with a display which is on par with the Retina Display of iPad.

Dubbed Cube U9GT5, the Android Jelly Bean device has a display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. This makes the device capable of boasting about the same 264 pixels per inch pixel density, which has been the sole credit of iPad so far.

However, the Chinese Android tab display is just 9.7 inch wider unlike the 10.1 inch iPad display.

But the display is the flagship feature. Inside, the device packs a Rockhip RK3066 1.6 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. It has an in-built storage capacity of 8 GB.

These specs make it not a very attractive device, except for its Retina Display and Android Jelly Bean treat.

Cube is not a new player in tablet business. They have earlier rolled out one of the first slates with a dual core processor, though with a Rockchip RK3066.

However, there are less chances for the device to head for many markets. Instead, it may stick to eBay or some knock-off markets in China.
