Grand Era U985, New ZTE Phone Packs Tegra 3 Quad Core

There is more news from ZTE. It is not just about their upcoming Windows Phone 8 devices, but also about a very powerful device which has an untamed quad core processor chip inside.

However, early signs show that the device will be heading to the Chinese markets only with very little chances of hitting the US or other markets.

On paper, it is a powerful phone indeed. Dubbed Grand Era U985, the device has a Tegra 3 quad core processor and a 4.5 inch 720p display. The rear camera on the device boasts of an 8 mega pixel sensor. Since the device is expected to debut in Chinese market, it will support local TD-SCDMA networks.

The Chinese smartphone maker touts their new comer as the slimmest quad-core phone to come out so far. We are yet to believe it, since we are yet to get the phone for a closer inspection. But, if the company’s claim of 7.9 mm thickness is anything to believe, it will indeed make one of the slimmest quad core phones ever.

However, 7.5 mm is the slimmest part of the body of the phone. At places, the device has thickness up to 8.6 mm. if we consider the all-round dimension; LG Optimus G will be in a better position with an all-round thickness of 8.45 mm.

ZTE is yet to tell anything on the pricing of this phone. Now tell us if you would like to have Grad Era U985 in the US market too.
