Lenovo A660 Waterproof Android Smartphone Heads for China

Well, ever worried about your favorite smartphone suddenly jumping out of your pocket into a pool of water, where it will say you bye forever with all the valuable digital information inside it?

If you have such fears, the new device from Lenovo, the A660 may be the best suited for you.

The new smartphone boasts of its IP67 certification which makes it capable of resisting adverse effects of dust and water.

According to the certification and the claims by the company, the device can be submerged up to 1 meter into water without any damage.

The device is tougher in such a way that it can live under water up to one meter depth for a maximum period of half an hour without any problem.

Though destined for the Chinese markets some sources indicate that the device may hit the US market sometime in the future.

So as to suit the needs of GSM users, the phone features two SIM slots for allowing its owners to use two separate connections simultaneously.

Apart from the dust-resistance and water proof capacity, the device features a 4 inch Gorilla Glass display and a 1500 mAh battery.

To keep the games run smoother, the device packs a dual core processor chip running at a clock speed of 1 GHz. The device has 3G connectivity and packs a 5 mega pixel camera on its rear.

Obviously, Lenovo has packed its favorite Android platform in the device. However, we did not get any clue on the pricing or the approximate date of availability.
