Encouraged by the warm welcome received by the Retina Display-equipped MacBook Pro, Apple is prepping up a more mainstream cousin of the machine.

According to insiders, the Cupertino company has started producing a 13.3 inch version of MacBook Pro, completely perfect with a 2560 x 1600 Retina Display.

Based on the information available from the upstream supply chain networks of the iGiant, analysts are also suggesting that the display is heading to a 13.3 inch version of MacBook Pro.

Emerging information suggests that Apple’s major display suppliers – Samsung, LG Displays and Sharp are supplying these high resolution displays for the upcoming product.

Though the 15.4 inch MacBook Pro has witnessed excessive demands, Apple expects that the new 13.3 inch machine will be more popular.

Production volume of the upcoming machine is way too higher than the 15.4 inch RD equipped MacBook Pro. If the bigger machine was produced in hundreds of thousands units, the 13.3 inch version will hit one or two million marks, it is being said.

We also hear that Samsung is more capable of supplying the high resolution displays. The company had fewer issues in reaching out the high resolution display requests from Apple and to meet the volume requirement first.

However, while the display on the 13.3 incher MacBook Pro looks rocking, the price tag will be the most unpleasant thing with the machine.

It will be priced below $2199 which is the starting price of the Retina Display equipped 15.4 inch model of the machine.

Though the smaller display adds to the portability, it will have considerable weight, when compared to its non-RD counterparts.
