Fujifilm X-E1 Images Leak; Sports a Retro Look

August 25, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It looks like life has come to a full circle when the styles you grew up with are back in vogue again. This is what one feels on seeing the leaked images of Fujifilm’s latest high-end compact camera.

Fujifilm’s upcoming X-E1 is a compact camera that is packed with state of the art internals, but has a retro exterior. Like both the X-series cameras, the X-E1, is solid chunk of metal.

In spite of sporting an old look, this high-end camera comes with a detachable f/2.8-4 18-55mm Fujinon Aspherical lens and a layout that’s very similar to Fujifilm’s X-Pro1.

Gathering from what is seen in the image, it looks like the Fujifilm X-E1 will be provided with a pop-up flash.

The Fujifilm X-E1 will be packed with an electronic view finder, and not a hydride optical/electronic version that is seen on the X-Pro1 and X100.

The camera’s processor is very slow and its auto focus speeds are awful. Moreover it costs £1200-odd just for the body.

So folks, are you going to pay that amount just for its retro looks?
