Well, tablets are usually expensive stuff. But ever heard of tablets available for price tags as low as $90? If not, take it here.

A stunning Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet is now shipping for a meager amount of $90. Don’t think that it is just plastic; it has got some interesting innards too.

Dubbed as Matrix One, the new 7 incher tablet from Direct Market Merchandise is a cute device running on the Android ICS and packs many features standard tablets have.

It is powered by an ARM Cortex 8 processor chip which is capable of running at 1.5 GHz clock sped coupled with a 512 MB of RAM. To meet the minimal storage needs of the users, it packs 4 GB of internal storage for that price.

The slate also packs a 2 megapixel front camera and a full size USB port along with an HDMI out port, in case you need to connect it to a display.

An addition to the storage and RAM will force the price tag to break the three digit barrier. For the model with 16 GB storage and 1 GB of RAM, you have to pay $130.

However, it is great to see that the trend in the tablet market is bringing in more number of cheaper tablets.

Following the success of the $199 Amazon Kindle Fire, now Google has launched Nexus 7 for the same price, which is reportedly followed on close heels by Apples iPad mini.

Though you cannot expect that much features in Matrix One for $90, the price point is a challenge to the upcoming cheaper tablets.
