iPad Mini Display Production to Start in August

Analysts who track Apple have said that the Cupertino Company will start producing the smaller iPad or the iPad mini this month.

According to well-placed sources, Apple is scheduled to start producing 7.85-inch displays in August. Analysts say that this means that the company is looking to release a new iPad this year itself, because the 7.85 display is slated to be used in iPad Mini.

The mass production of the display panels will start in August and will shoot up to a peak by the fourth quarter. It is estimated that by the fourth quarter, there will be more than a million units of this smaller display will be produced.

Rumor mills have time and again insisted that Apple is thinking about rolling out a smaller iPad, possibly aiming at the low-end tablet market where Apple currently has no presence.

Though Apple is yet to tell anything official about the upcoming rig, there are rumors that it will come with a Retina Display and with many cool features other low-end tablets do not have.

However, we have no clue about the pricing strategy Apple is going to adopt. But certain reports have suggested that the smaller iPad will be significantly cheaper than the normal iPads. So we can expect anything less than $499.

But will it fight well with the $199 Nexus 7 from Google?
