The ongoing legal battle between Apple and Samsung has helped us peek into the plans of these companies. How?

The documents they submit to the court are now in public domain, and they contain information that the companies have kept secret till now.

One such document shows that Samsung is working on Windows Phone devices.

Documents reveal Samsung is trying to expand its portfolio by bringing out excellent devices for platforms other than Android.

As per the documents, Samsung is planning to launch at least two high-end phones both running on the upcoming Windows Phone 8 platform. The documents show that the phones are now codenamed ‘Odyssey’ and ‘Macro’.

The Odyssey smartphone will have a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display at HD resolutions. It will bring along an 8 megapixel rear camera too. The device is expected to pack NFC capabilities, which makes it likely to sport Microsoft’s future offerings like the Wallet Hub and Tap + Send features.

The Macro smartphone will only have a 4-inch S-AMOLED display with a WVGA resolution. It packs a 5 megapixel camera on the rear.

Both run on dual-core power of Qualcomm’s MSM8960 chip which has a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. Both  have 4G LTE connectivity and may hit the shelves in Q4 this year.
