Microsoft has announced a new range of exclusive hardware accessories that are designed to accompany Windows 8 and there’s an update for the Touch mouse on the cards as well.

The Wedge Touch mouse and Wedge Mobile Keyboard are joining the Sculpt Touch Mouse and Sculpt Mobile Keyboard. These are all designed to play nicely with Microsoft’s next-gen OS.

The Wedge range includes a mouse that’s designed to be portable and is small enough to fit in your pocket. It packs Microsoft’s underrated BlueTrack tech, offers four-way scrolling along with Bluetooth and is priced at $69.95. But the company hasn’t announced the UK price as yet.

According to Microsoft, the Wedge Mobile Keyboard is designed specifically for Windows 8 tablets and is forecast to bring full-size keyboard comfort, efficiency and speed to a tablet.

It comes with a durable cover that smoothly turns into a tablet stand and will automatically turn off the keyboard when you put it back on. The price is set at $79.95.

The Sculpt is a comparatively cheaper range that is also designed for portability. With the price tag of $49.95, this set has a mouse and a similarly priced keyboard.

Microsoft will also be updating its original Touch Mouse with gesture settings for Windows 8. The $80 mouse will now allow the user to use three finger zoom gestures, two-finger app management and includes the provision to facilitate thumb gestures.

With the hardware getting pumped up, the only thing left is the much anticipated OS.
