AT&T has already announced that it would be updating the LG Nitro HD to Ice Cream Sandwich later this month. But a new leak has emerged for the handset. The leaked update is claimed to be the final build that will be pushed out on July 31.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich streamlines common actions. It uses a new typeface which increases the readability on high resolution displays which are becoming a norm in today’s smartphone industry.
Along with the new firmware comes a totally redesigned UI which should help to cheer up the disappointed users of the LG’s previous Optimus skin.
The redesigned Optimus UI allows users to unlock the handset by randomly swiping on any part of the screen. In this version, there is more room for customization as personalized pictures can be used as icons or shortcuts.
The menu includes a Download option to allow convenient management of content. Owners of this particular LG device can efficiently switch from one app to another via thumbnail images on the System Bar.
The virtual keypad is said to be more responsive with improved spell check and term suggestions. In order to properly install the update you’ll need to use the LG Windows Suite software.
