New Apple iPhone 5 Connector Could Render Existing Accessories Useless

We know all you iOS enthusiasts out there have been patiently waiting for the iPhone 5 to be delivered by Apple later this year.

Over the last few months, there have been rumors that said a new iPhone5 connector too would debut along with the new iOS smartphone,

Finally, it looks like the new iPhone dock connector for the iPhone 5 is actually coming your way, and this has apparently been confirmed by the USPTO.

It is believed that the new iPhone connector will make all the existing accessories worthless. One always has to remember that to actually make the existing iPhone accessories useless, one does have to update to the new iPhone 5.

If you decide not to, then the existing accessories will still continue to work with the already existing iOS device.

If the new iPhone is picked up, there is no doubt that someone in the mobile space will come up with a 19-pin to 30-pin adaptor at some point. So, there may be an option to continue using the existing accessories.

By the way, the new iPhone 5 connector is a power adapter for a peripheral device such as a portable electronics device.

Apple’s dock connector has basically been the same for years together, and one really can’t expect Apple to continue supplying the old dock connector forever without making any kind of modifications.

Are you waiting for this one too?
