Huawei has unveiled plans to launch its super slim smartphone Ascend P1 in August. The company claims it would be the world’s thinnest phone, with measurements of 127.4 x 64.8 x 7.7mm.

The phone features a 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM along with a SGX 540 GPU.

Sporting a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display of 960 x 540 resolution, the handset will come equipped with Gorilla Glass. An 8 megapixel rear camera features face recognition technology, autofocus, LED flash and Full HD recording ability that capture photos with good low light performance.

Video calling is possible through a front end 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

A 4GB in-built standard storage and a micro SD card slot can handle up to an extra 32GB. The phone is HSDPA and supports DLNA streaming through in-built Wi-Fi.

Even with all these features, the phone only weighs 110g. Though the software specifications of the Huawei Ascend P1 are currently unavailable; we guess the handset might come carrying either Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS or Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Let’s wait to know more.
