Acer is still on with its Android smartphone plans and wants to add one more to the crowd of low-end Android smartphones as its latest contribution.
Named Acer Liquid Gallant Duo, the device packs just adequate specs to run the show in order to promise a low-end price tag. So if you are a lover of high-end power machines, you may find it just plastic.
Packed with a 1 GHz single core MTK 6575 processor chip, the phone runs the Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Probably planning to hit more markets in Asia, the rig offers the dual SIM option which is hinted in its ‘Duo’ moniker.
It has a 5 megapixel cam on its rear assisted with an LED flash. The 4.3 inch touch screen with qHD resolution is reasonable considering its target market segment. The in-built storage for this device is just 4 GB. However, the microSD port of the rig offers extending it up to 32 GB. A Li-ion battery of 1500 mAh capacity offers considerable power life to this low-end phone.
The device packs all the usual stuff like Accelerometer, Digital compass, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor while offering a range of connectivity options which include Bluetooth 3.0 + EDR and 802.11b/g/n / Wi-Fi. The device also sports a 3.5 mm stereo audio jack and a standard micro-USB port.
All these stuff come for an off-contract price tag of $230 (£149). If you feel lured, you may think about pre-ordering the phone at the online retailer Expansys where it has popped up. It is expected to launch next month.
