Apple Rumored to Launch 13-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro

The hoopla created by the Retina Display-equipped MacBook Pro has subsided now. But new rumors suggest that there could be another Retina Display equipped crowd puller in the minds of the iGaint, seeing the excessive demand for the high resolution display on the sleeker portable machine.

Rumor mills say that the Cupertino company is planning to bring out a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

Sources in the upstream supply chains in Asia say that Apple has urged its suppliers to begin prepping up components for a new 13 inch MacBook Pro. According to rumors, the production of this device may start this quarter.

However, other sources claim that Apple is yet to make a marketing plan for the device. According to Richard Shim, an analyst with the DisplaySerach, the 13-inch Retina Display will kick off production this quarter but Apple is yet to chalk out business plans for the new device.

According to him, 13.3 inch Retina Displays with a pixel density of 2560 x 1600 will start production this quarter. The pixel density of the 13 inch display will be 227 which is way too denser than the 220 PPI of the present 15.4 inch Retina.

Production of the 13.3-inch Retina display is about a quarter behind the Retina screen used in the 15.4-inch MacBook Pro.

However, in the absence of a solid business plan, we are not sure when this 13 inch RD device will eventually hit the market.
