Are you a ‘socially-active’ smartphone user who wants to be connected with your community all the time? And the exorbitantly priced devices are not your thing? Here’s the answer from Samsung.

The makers of the highly successful Galaxy SIII has announced the launch of its new Android-powered smartphone specially for the ardent social networking users called Samsung Galaxy Chat. The phone promises to connect with the people around you more easily.

New Chat, which runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, has a 3 inch touch screen and a full QWERTY physical keypad.

The phone comes along with Samsung’s ChatON communication service which will connect users from any phone platform into a single community, enabling spontaneous group chatting and messaging, be it with text or images.

Ease of operation is what Samsung promises with the new Chat. One can easily breeze through the phone’s app menus with more visual icons having 3D effects.

There is also a fully customizable Favorites tray and widgets that can be resized according to preferences. There is a provision to launch the camera or view notifications directly from lock screen, thereby making multitasking easier. Also Samsung’s AllShare Play allows you to play multimedia from or to other connected devices.

The new phone will be available in Spain from July, and then over time will be launched across Europe, Latin America, Middle East, China, Southeast Asia and Southwest Asia at a competitive price point.
