The hardware manufacturing cycle of gaming consoles always differs from other gadgets. Usually a console maker goes back to start his work on the next console right when he launches a new console. But such conventions seem unfitting to Sony who has not yet uttered an official word about its next Play Station gaming console PS4.
However, information emerging from unexpected quarters suggests that the console has been under development since 2010.
Though the company is tight lipped on the progress or possible status of development of this new gaming console, observers got this information from the LinkedIn profile of a former Sony employee.
It was found on the profile of Attila Vass, a former research and development director for Sony. In his resume, he mentions that he has worked on the Next Generation Play Station project of Sony from 2010 to 2012.
According to his resume, the duties included development of graphics and security for the console.
Though the resume makes no other mention about the console, it is interesting to know that Sony is investing lot more time and effort to develop its next generation console.
Possibly, the time and effort that it puts in are the reasons why Sony is able to keep its present gaming console a favorite among gamers despite its age.
At this pace, we assume that, the Play Station 4 gaming console may not hit the markets any time soon.
