Shutter bugs who were waiting for lens options for the Fujifilm X-Pro1 can now take relief as their wait is over. The camera maker has released a detailed road map of the compatible lenses.
According to the official road map released by the company, two new lenses will be launched by this fall, while the rest of them will join the party next year. Interestingly, the new roadmap is not the one that we have glanced through at Fujifilms’ booth at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year.
Back then, available information suggested that the company is planning to release a 14mm and a 18-72mm f4 IS lens in 2012.
It was also expected that it will add four more lenses to the team in 2013 including 28mm f2.8 pancake, 23mm f2, 70-200 f4 IS, and 12-24mm f4 IS.
However, the new road map shows that the 18-72 mm lens is not going to materialize and is replaced by the conventional 18-55 mm one. However, with its f2.8-f4 range, it is faster than its rivals in the class.
The second lens for this year will be the 14mm f2.8 one. These lenses will be joined next year by the 56mm f1.4 lens, 27mm f2.8 pancake, 23mm F1.4,a 55mm-200mm f3.5-F4.8 and 10mm-24mm f4.
However, the road map does not tell us anything about the possible price line for these new lenses.
