Canon has always raised tough challenges in the DSLR genre of devices with its EOS Rebel series of devices. Now they have just added one more flagship model to the clan.
Dubbed Canon EOS Rebel T4i, the DSLR Cam packs an 18-megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor, DIGIC 5 Image Processor, 5 fps burst mode and an ISO range of 100–12800.
The AF system of the Rebel T4i is a nine-point all cross-type AF array, with a high-precision dual-cross f/2.8 point at center. One of the interesting features is the new Movie Servo AF, which offers quiet, continuous AF during HD video recording when used with Canon’s new EF and EF-S STM lenses.
Rebel T4i is the first Canon cam to have this feature. To stand out in the crowd, it is the first among Rebels to have a stereo mic too.
The rig packs the first Vari-angle Touch Screen 3.0-inch live view LCD monitor II among Canon rigs which offers “fingertip” controls, including touching a point in the frame to manipulate the focus of the shot.
A set of modes including Handheld Night Scene, HDR Backlight Control, Multi-Shot Noise Reduction, Video Snapshot and Scene Intelligent Auto will also help shutterbugs in their creative expeditions.
To give company, Canon has introduced EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM lens and EF 40mm f/2.8 STM lens which are compatible to Movie Servo AF feature.
The EOS Rebel T4i Digital SLR camera will start shipping at the end of June for a body only price tag of $849.99.
