Well, the buzz in the gadget market centers more on tablets and smartphones. Everyone who is into making electronic gadgets now try a hand at making smartphones or slates hoping to get a bite of this rapidly growing market.

But getting some bucks from this terrain is not very easy either, in the face of stiff competition. But that does not deter new entrants like Jetway.

Jetway, a Taiwanese firm, has been into the trade for some time, basically designing motherboards. But they have felt hat it is the right time to expand their profile and to jump on the smartphone band wagon.

So they have came out with Alfar 560, its first smartphone which brings together the popular design aesthetics and features of top running smartphones we get to see these days.

Obviously, Jetway is not aiming at the high-end markets with its debut attempt, but tries to find some grip in the mid to low range of the gadget market.

Alfar 560 features 650MHz MTK6575 CPU, 512MB of RAM and Bluetooth 2.1. Its display is 5.1-inch wider at 800 x 480 resolution. However, it is worth noting that not many low-end phones offer a 5 incher display.

To keep the users snapping pictures, it packs a 0.3 megapixel front cam and a 5 megapixel rear camera. However, to find more takers in Asian markets, the rig is dual-SIM-capable and supports both WCDMA and GSM.

The company plans to launch the rig in Asia, the Middle East and South America. Would you go for the smartphone when it arrives in your markets?
