Acer Aspire S5 Ultrabook Pre-Order Begins, Shipping on June 25th

Acer has been keeping silent on pre-order time or possible price details of the Aspire S5 line of ultrabooks, despite unveiling machines in this series some six months ago.

But now, we have spotted machines by Acer that belong to S5 clan at the Microsoft Store ready to take pre-orders. The machines that look like a top-end S5 model from Acer comes with a hot price tag of $1399.

That is too much we know, but we have spotted another Acer new entrant at the store taking pre-orders at a reasonable $729. The ultrabook is dubbed Acer Aspire TimelineU M5-481T.

To refresh you on the specs, the Aspire S5 packs 13.3 inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Core i7-3417U processor and 4GB of RAM. To keep your storage needs, it brings along a 256GB solid state disk.

A 3 cell battery gives up to 6.5 hours of power life while two USB 3.0 ports, a Thunderbolt port, HDMI, and DisplayPort keep high connectivity.

The TimelineU M5-481T packs 14 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, an Intel Core i5-3317U processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive with a 20GB solid state disk for cache and offer up to 8 hours of power life. However, it weighs 4.3 pounds compared to the 2.7 pounds weight of the S5.

Both machines start to ship on June 25th. Which one are you going for?
