The limelight in the gadget market, obviously, is with the tablets. But that does not mean that other gadget genres are there to doom. Laptops are still favorite machines for users who need both power and portability together.

So to keep those folks happy, Dell has just added two new names to its existing Inspiron line up of devices. Thus Inspiron15R and 17R now make the two new born babies in the R clan of Inspiron.

The new machines under the R clan bring in additional performance boost to the standard offerings n the Inspiron line up.

The basic models in the line up still feature Intel’s Sandy Bridge processor chips but users can also go for an upgrade with the brand new Ivy Bridge chips too.

Inspiron15R packs a 15-inch screen with 1366 × 768 resolution, a 2.4 GHz Core i3 Sandy Bridge processor coupled with a massive 6GB of RAM and 500GB HDD plus Intel’s integrated GPU. Inspiron17R has 17.3-inch display at 1600×900, but a 1.4 GHz Core i3 chip which makes it different from its bro.

However, solid things come heavy, which makes the lightest machine in these series to have 6.05 lbs of weight. But that weight is not visible on price tag with the 15R starting at $549.99 and the 17R starting at $599.99.

Both the new entrants pack Intel Wireless Display and MaxxAudio 3 technology. If you find the storage too low, upgrades can afford up to 1TB of storage. The duo will start shipping on June 19th.
