Well, again a rumor on Apple’s next gen iPhone. If it was the name of the device that got most sources buzzing in the case of new iPad before its launch, the rumors about the upcoming iPhone are more interested about the size of the screen.

With major news sources like Reuters and Wall Street Journal reporting the speculations that the new iPhone packs a 4inch display, the rumor was taking rounds in the tech news valley every day.

Now another reliable source who usually shoots Apple rumors, claim that the new iPhone will have a screen size slightly less than 4 inches.

According to this latest rumor on the upcoming iPhone, Apple is planning to pack a 3.95 inch display in the device and the display will have a resolution of 1136 x 640. As per the sources, Apple presently has two prototypes of the device which are in the testing phase and are in use by Apple employees. They are codenamed iPhone 5.1 and iPhone 5.2 (or N41AP and N42AP).

If the rumor about the screen size turns out to be true, it will also cause a change in the aspect ratio of the device compared to existing iPhone model. As the display is getting bigger, more pixels will be added to the display to keep the visual quality.

However, at this point it is not possible for us to confirm the new rumor. Since the four inch display theory originated from main stream news sources, they carry more weight.

The source of the present rumor has come out with precise predictions about Apple plans in the past. So we will have to wait until we get an official confirmation. Meanwhile, let us know if you will be disappointed with a 3.95 inch next gen iPhone.
