Samsung S-Voice Intelligent Voice Assistant Leaks, Try it on Any ICS Device Now

Galaxy S III is still a couple of weeks away from its European release. If you are from that part of the world and waiting desperately to lay your hands on it, we have found that you can try one of its interesting features right now even before the rig reaches your hand.

It is the much hyped Siri clone from Samsung – the S-Voice- that came out unofficial though XDA Developers forum. Looks like some talented folks at the forum have got their hands on the APK for Samsung’s S-Voice.

Interestingly, it is in such a form that you can try it on any Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device, no need to have a Samsung device.

The intelligent voice assistant feature which grabbed much limelight when the new version of TouchWiz came out along with Samsung Galaxy S III, actually couples the power of Google’s voice recognition engine and heuristic computing.

You can now try it on an ICS tablet or Smartphone, but don’t think it is a real Siri killer. However, it works well, provided you are giving the right command in a clear voice preferably at a low voice area.

Preliminary experimentation shows that it works pretty well to fetch weather updates through voice commands. To be frank, it is no better than Google’s plain voice search presently.

To try it, just copy the app to your system/app folder and change the permissions. If you are lucky, you may also find the app working when simply installed via the non-market way. Let us know your experience in the comments.
