Samsung Registers New Galaxy Variant at USPTO; a Bunch of Other Names Too

Looks like Samsung is full of ideas to the very brim. We have spotted this South Korean gadget maker who is a major name in the Android camp, filing a bunch of applications with the United States Patent and Trademarks Office (USPTO) for getting what seems like names for their upcoming Android devices.

Indeed it is not the first time that we find such applications from Samsung at USPTO in a matter of few weeks, but it seems that they have no dearth of new names and ideas.

As per an application filed on April 26th, the Smartphone maker wants to reserve the name Galaxy Variant for some of its upcoming product.

This is the latest application from Samsung we were able to spot at USPTO; there could be many others too.

However, the Galaxy Variant application is actually a follow-up of a bunch of other applications which were filed on April 13th which seek to register names like Galaxy Metrix, Galaxy Velvet and Galaxy Legend.

If we dig a little deeper, it can be found that the company has filed applications on March 30th for names like Galaxy Lift, Galaxy Sire and Galaxy Perx.

What is interesting is that the recent Samsung name catch we had at the USPTO indeed have some interesting info on the future plans of the company.

Since all these new names come with Galaxy in their name, we hope they all belong to the Android clan and possibly head to be smartphones, tablets or Phablets, who knows?
