Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to Get Quad Core Upgrade

April 18, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

We don’t know how much we can bank upon details divulged by these Korean insiders, however, one of them insists that Sammy is set to stop making their present Galaxy Tab.

Yes, you heard us right, we hear the machine known as Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 – known in Samsung circles as GT P5100 –  is reaching a halt in its production forever.

But don’t worry too much thinking that Samsung is just going to kill the gadget for no reason. They have good reasons out there.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 to Get Quad Core Upgrade

As per emerging info, the gadget maker is going to roll out a quad core update of the same machine to replace it, isn’t that pleasure news?

Code named ‘Espresso’ internally; it is not quite clear at this point of time which quad core chip will go into the new build when Samsung rechristen it into the market.

If it takes the much praised Exynos 4412 which comes with the power of its 32nm manufacturing process and packs four A9 cores along with powerful Mali 604 GPU, we will be more than happy with the upgrade. It is up to Samsung to decide which chip they want to pick for Espresso.

However, we hope that the device will not be very late to hit the US market, no matter which chip they are going to pick up.

The news in the wind says that the upcoming Galaxy Note 10.1 also will get quad core power before it hits the US markets. Well it looks like we are having a quad core spring around us.
