In a couple days, a new tablet from Asus would hit stores. Yes, you guessed it right; this is the follow-up version of the Asus Transformer. Being offered for less compared to what the predecessor had come for, the new tablet titled Asus Transformer Pad 300 sports little upgrade.

Sporting a 10.1-inch display, the tablet features Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Storage provision includes 32GB of memory and 1GB of RAM. There’s no change in its quad-core processor Nvidia Tegra 3.

A separate keyboard dock is also available, and that means easy transformation from tablet to laptop mode. This is perhaps the coolest trait the device touts. But you will have to buy it separately.

Other specifications of this 4G tablet include front- and rear-facing cameras as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. An 8 MP camera with a large F/2.2 aperture which enables really good photography experience is another highlight.

Another change incorporated in the new version is the extension of battery life from 10 hours to 15. The optional keyboard dock has the additional battery.

Retailers of the likes of Office Depot have given the price tag as $399.99, the same as Galaxy Tab 2. Some online retailers have started taking pre-orders in the meanwhile.

Asus Transformer Pad 300 reportedly will get launched on 22nd of this month. Well, more tablets featuring Android 4.0 are on the way, let us remind you.
