Apple iTunes 11 Starts Internal Testing; Will Bring More iCloud Integration

April 11, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

Words falling down from the mouth of a top head in an entity like Apple are, indeed, valuable indicators to the future direction of the technology and market trends in the gadget sector.

That is why we listened carefully to what Tim Cook will say when he was asked about his opinion on iCloud service at the Goldman Sachs Technology Conference.

He put it bluntly, that for him (read for Apple) iCloud is not something with a year or two product life.  According to him, it is more strategic in nature which has relevance for the next decade or more. So iCloud is going to be bigger on the iSky, it seems.

Cook’s words give extra logic for us to handle the emerging rumours about the upcoming iTunes version. The early details indicate that the iTunes 11 which has started internal testing has a major focus for iCloud integration.

According to sources close to Apple, iTunes 11 will bring out increased iCloud integration in the form of dedicated iCloud settings panel fitted within the iTunes 11.

The dedicated panel is designed and placed in such a way that it is centralised in nature and can be accessed by the user at any time with ease. It helps the users to control the iCloud related features while using the upcoming version of the iTunes.

The new version of the iTunes will bring extra iCloud related features like iTunes Match, iTunes in the Cloud and iCloud iOS device backups and more. It is also rumored to include early support for iOS 6. However, Apple, as usual keeps its lips tight on all these rumors.
