Galaxy Grand, Premier and Next New Samsung Names at USPTO; Gear Up for a Galaxy Flood

March 29, 2012, By Sanjeev Ramachandran

It looks like Samsung is going to flood the future market with a bunch of Galaxy devices. The hint has earlier come from the United States Patent and Trademark Office when it was found that the gadget maker has registered three names – Galaxy Thunder, Galaxy Express and Galaxy Accelerate.

Now again USPTO is giving us valuable hints about Samsung’s plan with three new name registrations being unearthed.

The new leak shows that Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Premier and Galaxy Next are also registered by Samsung. The pattern of the names suggests that the devices in all possibilities will end up in the current Galaxy crowd of Android devices.

The new hint confirms the veracity of the earlier leaks since the Galaxy Next is already a device Samsung has officially released .

In some countries, the Galaxy Mini is being sold under the name Next. But, no Samsung phone has come with the same name in the US.

So it indicates the chances that the gadget maker may reassign that name to a new model in the US market.

Though other names have not been spotted with Samsung gadgets sold in other markets, it is possible that the different names can suggest network variants of an upcoming device.

That may apply to the most anticipated Galaxy S III as well, but that is the height of hearsay. We won’t go speculating that far ahead.

To be on the safer side, the information suggests that Samsung has more Android plans for the future. At the same time all these names will not necessarily turn up as devices in the course of time.
