Apple’s Next iPhone to Sport 4.6 Retina Display; May Hit Markets Q2 This Year

If you think Apple is done with Retina Display, you are wrong. They have come out with one on iPhone 4S and now on the new iPad but reports indicate that they have another iPhone device with Retina Display in the pipeline.

The interesting point with the new information is that the new Retina Display iPhone will come with the largest display available for iPhones, if the rumor is true.

Sources claim that the iGiant has already started spelling out orders to its suppliers for a 4.6 inch Retina Display. That way it will be among the widest displays available among smartphone devices.

Actually, the Retina Display on iPhone 4S is 3.5 inch wide and has a 960 x 640 resolution. With this mark, it packs 326 pixels in an inch. However the new iPad display is 9.7 inch wide and has 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution.

This way, it crams 264 pixels in an inch, but no clue on the possible pixel density of the upcoming device.

With such a big display and the resulting larger phone, Apple can migrate to updated chips like A5X too.

However, the chances of Apple coming out with a bigger display phone are high since time and again different rumors have hinted about that.

Currently, Samsungs Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD has a 4.6 HD Super AMOLED screen on it. If the new Apple rumor is true, new iPhone too will come out at the same size.

As per the rumor, the new rig may be launched around the second quarter.
