Apple’s iPad has brought to you many an amazing feature already, and you have been pretty glad you picked up the slate. The latest addition is the new credit card reader from Eventbrite. iPad owners, aren’t you excited even more?

Eventbrite, the popular online ticketing platform, is now making new moves to attain their goal of $1 billion in gross ticket sales in 2012.

With the release of the ‘At the Door’ iPad app back in December, the company’s new credit card reader system allows event organizers to collect ticket payments on the move.

The new Eventbrite product christened ‘At The Door Card Reader’ is a lightweight, plastic device that is connected to the iPad’s dock connector port.

The orange hued rectangular device allows the users to swipe credit cards and make the payments instantly. The credit card reader functions in conjunction with the Eventbrite’s companion iPad app.

The app helps collect attendees’ details when the card is swiped on the device. The new system also provides the total sales data of an event by combining both the ticket sales on-site and online. All the data transferred to the iPad is protected, as the credit card encryption is done on the reader alone.

Eventbrite’s ‘At The Door Card Reader’ available in the company’s new online store, Brite Store, costs $10. The company promises that this amount will be refunded in the users’ Eventbrite account. Along with the service fee, a 3 percent fee will be charged for all the transactions.
